Stephen Nelson Briggs, 56, of Hanover, passed away suddenly on August 17, 2015. Steve was born on December 10, 1958 in Portland, Maine. He served in the US Marine Corp and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1989. Steve was an IT Specialist with IBM and taught motorcycle safety courses for the State of Maryland and for Harley-Davidson. He loved his bike and animals and he had a passion for riding. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Nelson Briggs. Steve is survived by his two daughters, Christina and Heather Briggs; his mother, Rita Briggs; his brother, Tom Briggs and his wife, Mary Meyers; his sister, Peggy Barabe and her husband, Leo; his grandchildren, Hailey Moyer, John Moyer and Kirstin Carder; his uncles, George Dittmann and his wife, Crista of Germany, and Guenther Dittmann and his wife, Waldraut of Germany; his aunts, Alma Brembs, of Germany and Josephine Galm and her husband, Peter, of Germany.
