Stephen Stillwell

On August 2, 2021, a beloved son and brother Stephen Stillwell passed away. He was surrounded by his family throughout the final weeks of his life and supported as he prepared for what was to come. His life was shortened by a lifetime of health challenges, but the love we have for him will endure. Most people were unaware of the daily adversity he experienced because of his never-ending resolve to live life to its fullest.

Stephen had an incredibly strong spirit and refused to let his health limit what he could achieve. His health complications forged an incredibly resilient fighter that developed the strength required to tackle the next health obstacle and to continue to pursue his dreams. As Stephen’s health became more complex his resolve intensified. As a high school student, this meant staying with the wrestling program until graduation and landing at the state wrestling championship. As an adult, he returned to school earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University in 2018 in Hospitality and Tourism. He loved working in the hospitality industry and worked tirelessly regardless of the nature of his job.

Stephen loved his family first. He loved the beach, good food, cars, and his cat Tulip. He was our hero. Stephen and our family are eternally grateful to all the doctors and nurses that have taken care of him his entire life.

He is survived by his parents, father, Steve (Beverly) Stillwell, St. Louis, MO and mother, Chris (Ed) Harris, Parker, CO; sister, Becky (Chad) Fuller, Parker, CO; brother. Kevin (Jennie) Stillwell, Kansas City, MO; nieces and nephews, Austin, Madison and Connor Fuller, Parker, CO and Emma and Logan Stillwell, Kansas City, MO.  Stephen was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Eleanor Stillwell and James and Patricia Prunty; aunt, Joan Williams; and uncles, John L. Stillwell and Mark Prunty.
