Details: Stephen M. Schatz, 48, a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church died on June 8, 2009 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Mr. Schatz was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 19, 1961 to Mark N. and Ann R. Schatz. He attended Arthur Slade Regional School as a child, graduated high school from Martin Spalding in 1979 and then received his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Maryland in 1983. Mr. Schatz was employed by the Baltimore City Life Museum as the Director of Operations for 10 years until it closed. He then became the Director of Facilities at University of Maryland College Park Campus with over 10 years of service. Mr. Schatz was a long time member of the Ann Arrundell Historical Society as well as former Treasurer, Vice President, and member of the Board of Directors. His hobbies included woodworking, biking, traveling, and fishing. Mr. Schatz is survived by his wife of 9 years, Evelyn Hoban, his son Joseph Mark Hoban Schatz of the home, his parents Mark N. and Ann R. Schatz, his sister Barbara Lee Schatz of Baltimore, his father in law Joseph Hoban and mother in law Barbara Hoban both of Lutherville.
