Stephen Lewis Miles, of Fleming Island, died peacefully on February 26, 2017. He lived a long and happy life of 98 years, illustrated by the fact that when faced with terminal illness, he remarked, “It’s a race to the finish and I’m going to win!” His characteristic optimism and good humor was an example to all who knew and loved him.
