Stephen Leslie Herring, age 82, of the Grantham Community went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Wayne-UNC Healthcare in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County to the late Marion L. Herring & Mary Bizzell Herring. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister’s Christine Herring, and Juanita Perkins.
Steve is survived by his wife, Christine Lambert Herring of the home. Sons- Steve Herring, Jr. of Hot Springs, NC, Fred Herring of Swansboro, NC Daughters- Tammy Hare of Goldsboro, Angie Dunn & Husband Dale, of Mount Olive. Grandchildren Paul Hare, Sarah Hare, Ally Davis, Emily Mobley, Michael Herring, Mary Dunn & Daniel Dunn. Great-Grandchildren-RoseMary Mobley, Arabella Mobley, Richard Mobley, Penelope Mobley, JeriAnne Davis, EllaRae Davis. Stepchildren- Judy Tucker & Husband Terry. Grandchildren-Robert Sears, Dwayne Sears, Georgia Lashbrook, Wesley Tucker, Carson Tucker, Isacc Martin
Steve was a member of Falling Creek Methodist Church. He was also the owner of Herring Mobile Home Village in Grantham, and President of the Mobile Home Park Owners-Developers Association of Wayne County. He was a member of the Wayne County Republican Party. A member and of the Mill Creek Lodge #125. A member of the Wayne County Shrine Club. Former co-owner of Steve & Pat’s Convenience store in the Grantham community.
