Stephen L. Jester, Sr., 80, of Quakertown, formerly of Glenside & Ardsley, died Fri. Aug. 4 in Richlandtown. He was the husband of the late Virginia (Phifer) Jester. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Charles Jester & Rosemary (Lang) Jester Everitt; and his step-father was the late Robert Everitt. He worked as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service out of the Glenside Post Office for 31 years before retiring. After retiring, he was a transport driver for Lynch Community Homes for 17 years. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Quakertown. Surviving children are Mary Rita Flynn (Michael) of Roslyn; Stephen Jester Jr. (Kellie) of Cyprus, TX; Virginia Gavin of Quakertown; George Jester (Katherine) of Quakertown; John Jester of Ardsley; Thomas Jester of Skippack; Eleanor Batschelet of Perkasie & Margaret “Maggie” McMahon (Joe) of Ardsley; 29 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Everitt, Jr. (Barbara) of Quakertown; and sisters: Susan Scharf (Walt) of Quakertown and Bonnie Mercer of Coatesville.
