Stephen Joseph Rush, 72 of Bloomington, passed away on August 26, 2017 at the IU Health Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen was born February 15, 1945 in Charlestown, Indiana and was the son of the late Kenneth Robert and Ruby Onita (Cantrell) Rush. He was owner/operator for over 25 years of Steve’s Home and Office Cleaning. He was a member of Smithville Christian Church, and was a member for over 20 years of the Hoosier Bassmasters. Steve made custom fishing poles as a hobby and he enjoyed going to sprint car races, loved watching NHRA drag racing and IU basketball and football. Steve’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his grandson Alan.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcia (Payne) Rush, daughter Stephanie Christy (Shane) of Solsberry, grandson Alan Christy of Solsberry, 3 sisters; Carole Rush of Bloomington, Naola Frye (Don) of Solsberry and Gloria Sola of Ocala, Florida, sister-in-law Bessie Rush of Bloomignton along with many nieces, nephews, friends and fishing buddies.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lowell Rush and sister Roxanna Rush.
