WINSTED -JANELLE – Stephen Janelle, 58, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Karen (Rivers) Janelle for 37 years. Born April 21, 1958 in Biddeford, Maine; the son of the late Lawrence and Rita (Marchand) Janelle. Stephen had a passion for German shepherds, loved riding his motorcycle, traveling – especially to Florida and Maine every year, and spending time with his family. The family would like to thank the fifth floor staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Dr. Green, Dr. Gomez and Smilow Cancer Center in Torrington for their care and kindness. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Amy Janelle and her fiancé Robert Popp, Mark Janelle and wife Maria Pergola, and Katie Janelle and her husband Michael Etter; siblings, Laurie Zimmer, Roger Janelle, Carol Lopardo, Sharon Krupa, Shirley Neumann, Linda Shaw, Bruce Janelle, Terry Shafer and Robin Gentile; granddaughter, Natalie Howley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Pearl Richard.
