Stephen J. “Steve” Lentz, 60, passed away at his home in Franklin Saturday, July 13, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Steve was born Feb. 6, 1953, in Indianapolis to Allen F. and Willie Mae (Bivins) Lentz.
He graduated from Brown County High School, class of 1971.
He married Janet L. Polley on Feb. 23, 1974; they were married for 39 years.
Steve was employed by Major Tool and Machine Company in Indianapolis as a CNC machine operator for 36 years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and Sci-Fi movies. He was an Indianapolis Colts fan.
Steve was a hardworking man and loved family gatherings with cookouts and bonfires.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Lentz of Franklin, two children, Heather L. Lentz of Nineveh and Nicole M. Lentz of Chicago, Ill., four sisters, Donna (Bill) Brunson of Texas, Paula Moore and Michelle Mays both of Shelbyville, and Theresa Wilborn of Southport, four brothers, William (Connie) Lentz and Christopher Lentz both of Trafalgar, Tim (Helene) Lentz of Worthington and Mark Lentz of Indianapolis, seven grandchildren, EmmaLeigh Lentz, Cossandra, Georgie, Joshua, Isaac, Mackenzie and Caleb Lord, mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Evelyn Polley of Franklin, brothers, and sisters-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Joshua David Lentz, and nephew, Ryan Mays.
