Stephen G. Konsowski Jr., 81 of Glen Burnie passed away on July 25, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1935 in Chicago. He received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in physics from the University of Detroit. In his younger years he worked at US Steel with his father. After college, he worked at Sperry for a few years before moving on to Westinghouse Defense Electronics Systems Center. While at Westinghouse he worked to advance the field of microelectronics, materials, and electronics packaging earning several patents and Westinghouse awards for his work in those fields. He retired from Westinghouse as an Advisory Engineer then he started his next career as a consultant for Northrop Grumman. In addition to his work he was an IMPAS Vice President, member of IMAPS Board of Directors, a former President of the Rippling Estates Community Civic Association, and a member of Jr. Achievement. He co-authored a book, Electronic Packaging of High Speed Circuitry. He enjoyed computing, classical music, culture arts, woodworking, and political blogging. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sheila A. Konsowski; his son Kevin G. Konsowski; and his sisters, Gertrude, Florence, and Dolores. He is survived by his children, Karen A. Lutz and her husband, William; Stephen C. Konsowski and his wife, Maria; Susan M. Corcoran and her husband, Pat; Brian J. Konsowski and his wife, Donna; Christopher N. Konsowski and his partner of many years (estranged), Donald. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
