Stephanie was born in Cambridge, Ohio on August 4th 1976, the fearless daughter of Gary Clinton Smith and Sandra Labonte. At a young age, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she grew up with her two sisters by blood, and countless brothers and sisters by choice. She attended James Madison High School until her junior year when she moved to Kentucky, graduating from Hart County High School. She attained a degree in accounting while simultaneously balancing being a young mother and wife. She held many positions including a banker, accountant, farmer, and a dispatcher for the local police force. Years later Stephanie returned to Texas and shared her new life with Christopher Pope of Boerne, Texas. They were married on October 21st 2016. She lived a good life and tried every day to make sure her husband, children and grandbabies knew she loved them. Her days were filled making joyful memories, loving life, travelling the southwestern backroads, and an avid concert connoisseur. Stephanie was an adventurous, strong-willed woman that was never afraid to take on a dare. She loved cold Dr. Pepper, the beach, her friends and family, making blanket forts with the kids, sailing, and being right. She is preceded in death by her daddy, Gary Clinton Smith.She is survived by her husband Christopher Pope of Boerne, Texas and his parents William and Ruth Pope.Children from a previous marriage: Misty Dawn Michelle and fiancée Colt Cruse, and their children Kamden and Carson Cruse of Cub Run, Kentucky; her daughters Jenna Colleen and Madison Nicole Meredith of Cub Run, Kentucky. Step-son from previous marriage to Collin and wife Kelly, and child Kayleigh of Leitchfield, Kentucky.Mother Sandra Labonte of San Antonio, Texas. Sister April Merino and her children Alissa, Jeffrey Smith, and Noah Merino of San Antonio, Texas.Sister Stacie Landwehr and husband Bryan, children Shawn Williams, Cheyenne, Shelby, and Rowdy Landwehr of New Braunfels, Texas. Her brother-in-law Todd Pope and his wife Lorraine Goodchild, Larrina Carlson, Keana, Kendra, and Maya Young of San Antonio, Texas. Her sister (in law and life) Amanda Rojana and her husband Dan, children Connor and Madelyn Rojana of Alexandria, VA.
