On Saturday, March 26, 2022, we unexpectedly lost our beloved daughter, sister and friend, Stephanie. While we are heartbroken to have to say goodbye, we wish to honor Stef’s memory by celebrating the life of a beautiful, brilliant and charismatic woman who taught us how to live loud, love big, and take on life with a sense of humor.

Stephanie was born on February 1, 1991 in Ogden, Utah, and grew up in North Ogden with her adoring parents, Quent and Debbie, and her little sister Jessica. Days with mom meant sledding down the hill in the backyard, eating lunches on “picnic rock” and trying to capture garden snakes and spiders, much to mom’s terror. Weekends with dad meant renting Goosebumps movies, eating crab legs, and taking full advantage of Lagoon Theme Park’s summer passport program.

Stephanie was a natural-born leader, and loved to play “school,” teaching her little sister and cousin Karlee everything from mathematics to dance routines to how-to put-on mascara. She loved to dance, student-teaching ballet classes and joining her high school drill team. Academics came naturally to Stephanie.  After attending St. Joseph Catholic Elementary and High Schools (Ogden, Utah) she graduated from Weber High School in 2009 having already obtained her associate’s degree from Weber State University.

Stephanie then attended the University of Utah, making lifelong friendships with the dorm-mates she met in Chapel Glen #804. Though Stef’s biting wit and hilarious comebacks made her the life of every party, she never let the college life of late nights and campus events get in the way of her dedication to completing her degree. She graduated in 2013 with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry, then pursued her dream career, working as a scientist at Myriad Genetics, Inc. near campus.

Stephanie loved animals, even the slithery and slimy ones. She had every pet imaginable, including snakes, iguanas, fish and most importantly her beloved Pomeranian, Penny. She also nurtured an extensive collection of houseplants. She could name off the top of her head every plant, its origin, and the exact amount of water and light needed to make it flourish.

Stef shared a love of dark humor and throwback music with her sister and lived to travel with her friends. Together they explored Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Texas, California, and so many other places. She never missed a camping trip or a chance to dance the night away at a music festival. She loved to cook and entertain, and we will never forget her HBO watch parties, her fancy Thanksgiving side dishes, or the time she hosted an epic super bowl birthday party complete with a football ice cream cake.

Anyone who knew Stephanie knew her huge heart was matched only by her stubbornness. It was often Stef’s way or the highway, but to be honest, Stef’s way was always more fun. Stephanie was frequently fashionably late, but she never failed to show up for us, and supported her family and friends through illnesses, heartbreaks, and even a global pandemic. Stephanie lived life loudly and unapologetically, and we will miss her contagious energy and impeccable comedic timing with our whole hearts.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her Grandparents Dorothy and Anthony Tontodonato and Ada and William H. Eddy, her dear Aunt Marjorie E. Loy, and Uncles Loren (Larry), Robert, and Alfred Eddy. She is survived by her parents, Deborah Eddy and Quenton Eddy of North Ogden, Utah, her sister and brother-in-law Jessica (Eddy) and Graham Rich of Salt Lake City, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and the countless friends whom she loved like family.
