Stephanie (Granger) Freeman, 60, of Alexandria, passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 11, 1960, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided most of her life in Alexandria.
Stephanie graduated from Alexandria High School in 1979, Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Anderson University with her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education, and was very proud to be a Nationally Certified Emergency Nurse.
She currently worked as a Diabetic Educator at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital and previously worked as a Diabetic Educator at Community Hospital Anderson, and St. John’s Hospital, ER.
She was a member of Job’s Daughters as a young girl.
Stephanie was a wonderful cook, loved to hunt, garden, ride her motorcycle, and loved her family, and absolutely cherished her grandbabies with all of her heart. She was an exceptional wife, mother, sister, grandmother, teacher, mentor, and nurse.
Stephanie is survived by her loving husband, Steve Freeman; daughter, Monica (Matt) Nalley; son, Justin Hollies; father, Harold (Gertrude) Granger; step-father, Jerry Hiatt; grandchildren, Sadie Tilden, Jaxson Hollies, M.J. Nalley, and Meara Nalley; brother, Stan (Shari) Granger; also surviving is her loving four-legged friend, Michaela.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Hiatt; step-son, Andrew Freeman; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
