Steffa Ann Koscak (Yadach), 97, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. Steffa was born on her parents’ farm in North Canton on September 25, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Liszcz) Yadach, both Polish immigrants, and she lived in Northwest Connecticut all her life. She attended school in New Hartford and retired from her job as Quality Inspector at Waring Products in 1981. Steffa’s parents passed away while she was young. She had five brothers and three sisters: Martin, Joe, Stanley, Bobby, and Albert Paul Yadach, and Stella Hayes, Mary Bartholic, and Jenny Skarupa, all now deceased. On February 22, 1941 she married Joseph John Koscak (deceased), and went on to have a family of her own. Steffa was kind, quietly funny, and above all devoted to her family. She loved women’s basketball, and almost never missed watching any of the UConn games. She followed politics and had hoped to see the election of the first woman president to the White House. She loved to play with her Jack Russell dog and to go for long rides in the car to see the changing seasons. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Robert Koscak, whom she is here pictured holding shortly after his birth in 1943. She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Koscak, Barbara Conklin and husband Lawrence; her son, Joseph Koscak II; four grandchildren, Tim and Steve Conklin, Stephanie and Joseph Koscak; and three great-grandchildren, Jessie and Kailee Conklin, and Michael Koscak.
