Starry “Star” Yvonne Jones was born in Decatur, Alabama on August 17, 1984 to the late John Anthony Rice, Sr. and Clara Jones. She departed her life on February 7, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama.
She accepted Christ at a young age at St. Stephen P.B. Church.
Star was a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, and graduated from Kee Business College in Chesapeake, VA in Modern Assistant Dentistry, she later joined the U.S. Navy in 2008.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Clara Jones of Birmingham, AL; siblings, Erica Reed, Tavares Reed, Corey Williams, Marriott Reed, Fabian Jones all of Decatur, Audrea Jones of Birmingham, AL, Dominique Bass of Decatur, AL; step-grandmother, Georgia Maxwell of Decatur, AL; eight nieces, four nephews; three great nieces; best friends, Altonette Moore, Shun Adams, Nakysha Boggs, and Tanisha Erwin; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
