Stanley W. Corliss, 72 of Fairmount, Indiana died on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Community Hospital in Anderson, Indiana following a brief illness.
Stan was born Friday, January 15, 1943 in Hart, Michigan, son of the late Rev. Leo J. Corliss and the late Vera A. (Howell) Corliss.
Stan graduated from Muskegon High School in 1961, Marion College (IWU) and Indiana Business College. He married Elenora Kimmel on June 5, 1965. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before Elenoras death on August 16, 2012.
Stan served his community for 34 Years at Fairmount State Bank. He continued that service at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and most recently at the Fairmount Township Trustees Office.
Stan loved to sing and was a member of the Marion Chaper of the Barber Shop groups , Sons of Harmony, Chord Care, and Senior Sound. He was also a member of the Back Creek Boys Gospel Quartet. He was an active member of the Fairmount Lions Club. He loved his Fairmount United Methodist Church Family where he was actively involved in the Misfits Sunday School Class and sang in the choir. He enjoyed volunteering at Gilead Ministries and his membership in the Fairmount Lions Club.
Surviving are daughter, Christina L Rigney and her three children Drusilla M. (Dru) and Elizabeth Grace Corliss and James (Jimmy) C. Rigney IV, Jonesboro, IN son, Jeffrey A ( Renay) Corliss and their son Kaiden Michael Corliss, Fishers, IN brother, Donald(Geraldene) Corliss of Shoreview, MN, sister, Carolyn(Larry) Wheeler of Mount Joy, PA 1 niece and 3 nephews.
