Stanley passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the age of 88. Stanley was born July 25, 1929, in Gardner, MA, the only child of Stanley, Sr. and Victoria E. (Wahala) Sokolowski. He leaves his wife, Pauline Hamel of 60 years.
Stanley served in the U.S. Naval Reserves until honorably discharged. He enjoyed woodworking, building a small speed boat and surfboard, enjoying many hours with his family and friends. As a youth he was an active boy scout and played the trumpet in the school band. He later played the trumpet in a dance band. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, Post 207, serving as Post Commander.
During his long career as a Hydraulic Engineer he held many positions such as, Design Engineer, Manager, Market Development in North America, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, and Manager of Education; traveling to Europe and Brazil. He taught college and many seminars on the many aspects of hydraulic systems. Stanley is survived by his wife Pauline; his children, Janice and her husband John Perkins and his son Thomas; and 4 grandchildren, Daniel, David, Sean and Sara Perkins.
