Stan passed away on March 15, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Canon City, Colorado on December 11, 1948, as the third son to Fred W. and Mildred (Legan) Adamic.
Stan was raised in Fourmile on the family farm and learned the value of hard work from his dad and mom. He began his education at the Fourmile School from 1st-6th grade, attended Junior High School at St. Michael School, going on to graduate high school at Holy Cross Abbey, class of 1967.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and proudly served for 3 years, one of them being in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. In February of 1969, he married the love of his life, Lela Kohler, a union that lasted for 53 years. During this time, they had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. Relying on his hard work ethic, including a wood cutting business with his brother Dave for 20 years, he was always able to provide for his family. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Stan is survived by his wife, Lela of the family home; sons, Steven (Linda) Adamic and Troy (Alice) Adamic; daughter, Jennifer (TJ) Killen; grandchildren, Destin Adamic, Shantel (Brandon) Rigby, Dylan Adamic, Chasta (Dakota) Dunaway, Jared Killen, and Kelli Killen; great-grandchild, Mila Rigby; brothers, Fred (Alayne) Adamic JR and David (Marion) Adamic; sisters-in-law, Wanda Adamic and Amy Pratt; brother-in-law, Vaughn (Carol) Tucker; aunts, Lynda Murray and Betty Legan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stan is also survived by his Army buddy, Dave (Vicki) Goodson, and best pal, George Klinger.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stephen Adamic; in-laws, Keith and Evelyn Kohler; and uncle, George Murray.
