Stanley Jerome Pitakos, age 62, of Cassopolis, Michigan, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 in his residence. He was born on May 3, 1954 in Newport, Kentucky, the middle child and only son of Stanley and Audrey (Myers) Pitakos. He was preceded in death by his parents. Stan loved sports and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. He loved horses, including his own “Reuben,” and horse racing.
Stan had served as Commodore of the Birch Lake Yacht Club and enjoyed the friendships and time spent on the water. Stanley will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his two sisters, Sandi (Michael Abadie) Pitakos-Abadie of New Orleans, Louisiana and Marilyn Spratt of Cold Spring, Kentucky; and three nephews, Nicholas (Ashley) Winburn of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Christopher Spratt of Henderson, Nevada, Michael Spratt of Cold Spring, Kentucky.
