Stanley Eugene Jones was born on July 18, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Monroe Jones Jr. and Mary Jones. He was the second child and the only son born to this union. He was surrounded by love of his four sisters, Betty Jones, being the oldest, Margo “Cookie” Jones, Connie Jones and Toni Jones. He loved ordering his sisters around. Stanley was educated in the Denver Public School System, and attended Manuel High School, later he received his GED. Growing up, Stanley enjoyed playing basketball and fixing bikes. Stanley also had a love and passion for music; he loved singing and was a natural at playing the drums. In his pastime Stanley enjoyed listening to Jazz; one of his favorite recording artists was John Coltrane. Stanley enjoyed spending time with family and friends; he had a special bond with his mother, Mary and his three sisters, Toni, Connie, and Cookie. Also, he maintained a close relationship with a special person in his life, Velma. By profession, he became a Journeyman Butcher. He prided himself self in this accomplishment. He was hardworking, dedicated, and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. Stanley was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. He was very determined to obtain anything he desired. He also was an avid sports fan; specifically football. He would call home and ask for all the sports programs for all the seasons. He was an outgoing and fearless individual, with a heart of a lion, He fought a good fight, with all Gods might! He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Jones; his mother, Mary Walker Jones, and two sisters, Betty Busby, and Toni Adams. Stanley Eugene Jones departed this life into the embrace of Jesus on November 14, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Margo E. “Cookie” (Harold) Richardson and Connie Wilkerson; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
