Stanley Gene “Stan” Dennis, 62, of Moberly, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his home after a heart attack. Stan was born August 16, 1955, in Moberly to the late Clifford Gene and Bertha (Hammonds) Dennis.
Stan was supervisor of the metal plant at the Missouri Department of Corrections. He was a lifelong Moberly resident, except for five years in Texas with DuPont.
He married Jean Westhues on March 22, 1985 in Moberly, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Joshua Solomon Dennis and Misty of Holts Summit, MO, Brett Wayne Dennis and Hollie of Moberly, Trevor Lee Dennis and Samantha Updegraff of Moberly; three grandchildren Eli, Michael, and Connor; a brother Rodney Dennis and wife Lynette of Scottsdale, AZ; other relatives and many trail riding and card playing friends.
Stan loved playing cards, especially poker and pitch. He enjoyed camping while trail riding, and loved going to auctions and garage sales, anywhere he could find a bargain. He was an avid woodsman and loved cutting wood, and working outside.
