Stanley was born on January 4, 1932 in Baltimore to the late Lloyd D. Jett and Delores (Herr) Stewart. He was raised in Pig Town and left school in 8th grade to shine shoes so that he could take care of himself and his father. Kessler, another Pig Town native, and they were married for 64 years – pushing for 65. Stan joined the United States Air Force and served his country faithfully and honorably.

After his military service he became a Baltimore City Police Officer in the Southern District for 32 years. After his retirement from law enforcement, Stan embarked on another career and became Head of Security for Pimlico and Laurel Racetracks, and retired a 2nd time. He was a member of the American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109, Fraternal Order of Police, and Monsignor Ripple Council, No. 5370 of the Knights of Columbus. His legacy of love as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather will live on with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 siblings.
