Stanley Clayton Lay, Sr., 70, of Holton, IN, passed away at 11:37 PM, Monday, April 16th, at his residence. Stanley was born in Casey County, KY on November 21, 1941, a son of the late Bessie (Buck) and Thorton Bant Lay. He worked at Seagram’s Distillery Lawrenceburg, IN., for 30 years and retired in 1997 . Stanley also had worked for the Rising Sun Gulf Station and operated Lay’s Marathon Station in Versailles, IN. Stanley was a member of the Versailles Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years and a former member of the Versailles American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Stanley was also a mechanic and enjoyed tinkering on anything that needed fixed. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
