Stanley Burris, 82 of Lake Holiday passed away Friday at home. During his lifetime he worked in the Auto Industry starting in 1948.
His career spanned through several western states. He came to Indiana in 1966 and worked at dealerships in Indianapolis, Lebanon and Crawfordsville.
He worked at O.K. Galloway and Sons several years. He also taught for 2 years as a vocational instructor at Covington and Washington, IN. From 1996-2012 he worked for the Park and Recreation department working on their vehicles and the Sunshine Van.
Stan was born November 26, 1930 in Monticello, KY to William H & Eula Grace Smith Burris.
He married Ramona Allen in 1950 in Iowa, they had seven children Doug (Teresa) Burris, Bainbridge; Dave (Dena) Burris, Boulder, MT; Rebecca (Phil) Wise, Issaquah, WA; Dennis (Olga) Burris Liberty Hills, TX; Roberta Wilson, Newton, IA; Tom (Cherie) Burris Crawfordsville; and Robin McDermott, Iowa. In 1983 he married Barbara Hedrick Walp, her children Brenda (Brian) Holt, New Ross; Gina (Frank) Williams, Crawfordsville; and Susan (Eric) Kidd, Crawfordsville survive. Also surviving are brothers Billy Burris, Ft. Collins,CO; Rick Burris, LaPorte, CO: and Tim Burris, Kaycee, WY, Sisters Bonnie Davis, LaPorte, CO and Lois Wilson of LaPorte, CO, 17 Grand Children, 6 Step Grandchildren and Many Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Helen Olson, Kimberly Burris and Dorothy Jean Burris, a grandson Tommy Burris and a granddaughter Abigail McDemott.
