Newark – Stanley Bert Hares, 73 died suddenly Saturday, October 26, 2002 at Via Health of Wayne – Newark Campus.
Family and friends may call Tuesday (Oct. 29) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Norman L.
Stanley was born the son of Frank and Dorothy Hart Hares on April 10, 1929 in Auburn, New York. He came to Newark in 1955 with his brother, together they owned and operated the Hares Dairy Farm in Newark.
Stanley was an associate member of the Fairville Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Eastern Milk Association, Newark Grange and the NYS Big Buck Club. He had served on the town of Arcadia Grievance Board for several years. Stanley enjoyed working on the farm, deer hunting and especially his grandchildren.
Stanley will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Jean LeFever Hares; son Douglas Jay Hares; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie Lee and Dean “Deano” Rice of New Hampshire; grandchildren April Marie, Jay Robert and Brandie LeeAnn Rice; brothers Donald (Dorothy) Hares of Newark and David (Mary) Hares of Skaneateles; many nieces, nephews and many friends in the Skaneateles area.
Stanley was predeceased by his sister Gloria Denman.
