Our lovingly devoted father and grandfather, Stanford J. Sater, age 90, was surrounded by his family when he passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2022.
Mr. Sater was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on New Year’s Day, 1932.
After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech in 1953, he entered the U.S. Air Force. He also received his master’s degree in aeronautical engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, followed by three years at the Special Weapons Center at Kirkland Air Force Base, New Mexico. Upon leaving the Air Force in 1958, he worked for General Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is survived by children, Dr. Craig Sater, Dr. Richard (Pamela) Sater, and Dr. Deborah “Debbie” Carstens; grandchildren, Natalie (Jeremy), Richard “Richie” Jr. (Amy), Cassidy, Christian (Jessica), Ryan, and Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sol and Selma Sater; sisters Marjorie Wolk and Barbara Klametz; and wife of over 59 years, Norma.
