Gales Ferry – Stacey L. (Bernal) O’Connell, 43, of Meadow Dr., died Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in her home. She was the wife of Chris O’Connell. Born in Norwich, she was the daughter of Caroline (DeRico) Bernal of Ledyard and the late Leslie D. Bernal, Jr.
Mrs. O’Connell was a homemaker who enjoyed drawing. She previously worked at Foxwoods Casino. She was a wonderful and loving mother to her 3 children.
In addition to her husband and mother, Stacey is survived by her twin sons, Ryan and Jaxson O’Connell; her daughter, Alexis O’Connell; her brother, Leslie Bernal, III of Providence, RI; her sister, Jennifer Bernal and her wife Christel Hoydic of Middletown, CT; her nephews Grayden Hoydic and Parker Nickelsen; her niece, Olivia Nickelsen; her uncle, James DeRico and his wife Joanne of Niantic; her cousin Austin DeRico; her sister in law, Jenn Nickelsen her husband Jay Nickelsen of Toms River, NJ; and her in-laws, Philip and Jeanne O’Connell of Niantic, CT.
