MARQUESister Leonilla M. Marque, S.L.W., a Sister of the Living Word, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center at the age of 87. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie Winters Marque and Leon Marque, Sr., her brother, Leon Marque, Jr., and sister-in-law, Florence Marque and a niece, Leonilla M. Gardemal and is survived by Joseph Gardemal, Jr.; grand nephews, Joseph and Stephen Gardemal. Sister was born in New Orleans resided at Metairie Manor until she relocated to Our Lady of Wisdom. During her sixty years as a religious Sister ministered in various schools in Michigan, Missouri, Illinois and Minnesota. Since 1966 Sister ministered in the New Orleans area at St. Henry School, St, Francis of Assisi School, Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Mary Magdalen.
