Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Jeanne (Sr. Mary Jarrett) Brown died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on Saturday, December 26, 2020. She was born in 1934 in Astoria, NY and in 1956 entered the former congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace.
Sr. Jeanne earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the College of St. Mary of the Springs now Ohio Dominican University, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University and a Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education from the University of Virginia. She taught in schools in Connecticut, Michigan, Steubenville, OH and in the Columbus diocese at St. Gabriel, St. James the Less. She was also on the Faculty and Administrative Staff at Ohio Dominican University . She ministered at the former Rosemont Center, St. Timothy Parish and was a tutor at the Dominican Learning Center all in Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Harold Brown and Ruth Cunningham Brown, her brothers, Dr. Thomas and James, and her sisters, Ruthmary Carey, and Margaret Ann Geissler. She is survived by a niece and nephews.
