Sonja J. Lazear, age 75 of Carlyle passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Legacy Place in Breese, Illinois. Mrs. Lazear was born in Carlyle on December 18, 1940 the daughter of Paul and Mary (Berry) Palm. Sonja married Michael L. Lazear on December 24, 1960 in St. Charles, Missouri and he survives in Carlyle. Along with her husband, Mrs. Lazear is survived by her son Michael P. Lazear and wife Linda of Comer, Georgia; two granddaughters: Samantha and Mackenzie Lazear also of Comer, Georgia; her sister-in-law Stephanie Wilson and husband David; and brother-in-law Tom Lazear. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother. Sonja enjoyed gardening and taking care of her pet dogs. She and her husband were avid corvette enthusiasts.
