Sonia Mae (McMichael) Swetye, age 84, of Damascus, Ohio, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 15, 1929 in Salem, a daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Wingard) McMichael. Mrs. Swetye attended both Tallmadge and Salem schools. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at the Salem China. Her parents; two grandsons, Alexander Rinyo and Nolan Swetye; and three brothers, Frank, Kellogg and Laurence McMichael preceded her in death. Her husband, Arthur Swetye Sr., whom she married May 8, 1948, survives her along with three sons, Art (Marcia) Swetye Jr. of Circleville, Ohio, Mark Swetye of Bozeman, Montana and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Swetye of Salem; two daughters, Jackie (Greg) Rinyo of Damascus and Cathleen (Joseph Sr.) Runyon of Salem; a sister, Jessie June McGowan of North Carolina; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Babbitt, Abbee (Kelly) Skaggs, Ryan Swetye, Erin (Kim) Nezbeth, Rebecca Rinyo and Joe Jr., Travis, Casey and Kelsey Runyon; great-grandchildren, Kierra, Tessa and Beau Nezbeth.
