Sondra “Tudy” Orris, 80, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, January 27, 2019, at White Hall Nursing Center in White Hall.
She was born January 30, 1938, the daughter of Wilbur Fernandes and the granddaughter of Allen and Sanie Fernandes. She married James R. Orris on September 16, 1956, and he survives.
Mrs. Orris is survived by two sons, James Orris of Fowler and Robert (Glenda) Orris of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, James (Angela) Orris, Jodi (Mark) Anderson, Joshua (Deidre) Orris, Meghan (Josh) Wardell, Alissa Orris (Nick Costillo), and Madison Davies; and six great grandchildren, Blayton, Noah, Callie, Remmi, Jeffrey, and Ambreia. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; one son, Jeffrey Orris (surviving wife Laurie of Jacksonville); and several aunts and uncles.
Tudy graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1956. She was employed at North Jacksonville Foods and at Four Rivers Special Education. She later worked at Kirlin’s in Jacksonville.
Tudy was a member of the Women of the Moose. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with family, and playing cards.
