Sondra “Sandy” D. McCreary Phillips, 69, died August 28, 2008, at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness. She was born March 10, 1939, in Mecca, IN.
She moved to Anderson when she was ten years old. She was a front-line supervisor for Anderson University Creative Dining from 2005 to the present. She also retired from RCA where she worked from 1972 to 1995. After leaving RCA, she worked for Anderson Community Schools Corporation cafeterias. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God.
She is survived by her son Dan Phillips; daughter Angela Phillips; granddaughters Christyna Ballenger and Kristin Phillips; sisters Hazel Stamm, Avis Lanham, and Pauline Brooks; brother-in-law James Walker; sister-in-law Betty Nolan; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Perry and Elsie Fiscus McCreary; siblings Jenny Lawry, Wayne Nolan, Louise Andrews, Thelma Walker, Addison McCreary; brothers-in-law Noll Andrews, Floyd Stamm Jr., Edwin Lanham, and Carl Brooks; maternal grandparents John and Rilda Fiscus and paternal grandparents Thomas and Caroline McCreary.
