Soccorro was born July 7, 1958 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Anita (Varela) Porras. She had been an area resident since 1976 and on August 18, 1978 she married Armando H. Martinez in Deming. She was a homemaker and attended Living Word Family Church.
She is survived by her husband, Armando H. Martinez of Columbus; son, Armando Martinez of Columbus; daughter, Angie Armijo (Paul) of Deming; mother, Anita Porras of Columbus; a granddaughter, Rosemary Armijo of Columbus; 6 sisters, Lucille Gonzalez (David), Virginia Porras, Graciela Porras, Maria Porras, Josefina Cardenas (Jacinto) and Delma Porras and 3 brothers, Raul Porras Sr., Inez Porras, and Sergio Porras.
