Our beloved Mother, Sita Persaud

Born in Harlem, West Coast Demerara, Guyana

Dhanrajie Kirpal known as Sita Persaud, loving wife of late Ganga Persaud, is survived by her 8 children, Dilip, Savitri, Dasrat, Gaitri, Margaret, Pabitri, Hardat and Mama, 22 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren, her Brother Ganga Maraj and Sister Rita Nandalall.

Sita lost her husband when she was 32 years old, leaving her to raise their 8 children on her own.  She worked hard and supported her family by farming, selling vegetables and cutting rice.  Sita aspired a better life for herself and children and came to the United States on July 12, 1977.  She lived in Queens, New York and worked for Orlandi Inc, a factory in Long Island New York.  Sita retired in 1996 and eventually moved to Florida for the warm weather.

Sita’s ambition became an example to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She showed us that hard work builds character and that everything your heart desires can be achieved through your own will.  She will forever remain the glue to our entire family and we will forever be grateful and proud of what she represents. Whether you knew her as Sita, Mommy, Grandma or Great Grandma she leaves us all with a legacy that will continue to live on within our hearts and for generations to come.
