Sister Justine Kiefer, OLVM, 96, a resident of Victory Noll, Huntington, IN, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 5:15 a.m. at Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington, IN.
Sister Justine was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1917 to Fred Kiefer and Helen Curtin Malbeuf Kiefer. She is preceded in death by two brothers, William Kiefer and Fred Kiefer. Surviving is one brother, Joseph Kiefer of Oak Park, Illinois and her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Victory Noll sisters with whom she lived life and community for 75 years.
Sister Justine entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on August 31, 1938 and made first vows on August 5, 1941. She served in the missions in Michigan, California, Indiana, Colorado, Texas and Illinois. She retired in 1995 and returned to Victory Noll as a clerical and receptionist volunteer.
