Sister Charles Van Hoy died on Jan. 27, 2021, in Mother Theodore Hall, St. Mary-of-the-Woods. She was born on Nov. 2, 1929 in Bloomington, IN to William F. and Sarah Ann Sheetz Van Hoy and was given the name Marjorie Mae.
Sister Charles entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence on Feb. 2, 1949 and professed Final Vows Aug. 15, 1956. She earned a bachelor’s degree from St.
Sister Charles had sparkling eyes and a beautiful smile. These mirrored an inner gentleness and serenity.
Sister Charles is survived by nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Brown; and four brothers, William, Donald, Kenneth and Charles Van Hoy.
