Sister Camilla Harant, Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul
Sister Camilla (Kamilla Theresa) Harant, age 98, died December 20, 2013 at Villa St. Michael in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She was born on October 30, 1915 in Baltimore, Maryland. Sister Camilla was one of three children born to Philip and Kamilla (Paule) Harant.
Sister Camilla joined the Daughters of Charity on December 2, 1938 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Her first mission was St. Vincent’s Home in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania where she cared for children for six and a half years. In 1946 she went to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida to serve in the business office. Following that mission, she served as business manager in St.
Sister Camilla was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by her nephew Philip (Delores) Harant of Baltimore and her Sisters in Community.
