Sindy Mabel Colindres was born in the small village of Dulce El Nombre de Culmi, Honduras. The second youngest of five daughters and two brothers, Sindy had an active childhood of games, school, and household chores. After secondary and high school in this rustic country town, Sindy followed in her sister’s footsteps and migrated to the United States from Honduras in 1996. Upon her arrival, she resided with her two elder sisters in Oakland Park and immediately began working towards her new American dream.
In 1997, Sindy gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Charity, and dedicated herself to raising her. A loving and caring mother, Charity was the foundation of Sindy’s life from this point going forward and Sindy made it clear that Charity came first in her life and her heart. Ultimately, through hard work and sacrifice, Sindy was able to purchase her own home in Boca Raton, thus providing an even broader opportunity for her young daughter. She was quietly strong, soft spoken, but could be easily engaged in lively conversations at family held events. Family oriented, understanding, Sindy never failed to ask about the wellbeing of her many nephews and nieces as well as all the grandparents. She enjoyed her pet dogs, family barbeques and dancing, particularly “punta”. But, perhaps most of all she enjoyed being Charity’s loving mother.
