Simon R. Silva, 80, Anderson, died July 28, 2002 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.. He was born September 3, 1921 in Pinal Del Rio, Cuba, and resided in Anderson. He and his family came to America in 1969 moving to Chicago, IL and living there for several years before moving to Florida where he lived for 5 years and finally moving to Anderson 8 years ago.

While living in Cuba, Simon was the Superintendent of Warehousing at a Sugar Mill. Since coming to America, he was a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for Sears and also a photographer. He was a member of the NRA, the Republican Party and an avid Baseball fan.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ayda B. Busto Silva, whom he married January 13, 1957, in Camaguey, Cuba. Two Sons: Alex D. & wife Gina Silva of Chicago, IL and Jorge E. & wife Irene Silva of Anderson. Grandchildren: David Silva and Chris Silva both of Anderson & Max Silva and Sam Silva both of Chicago, IL. Sisters: Juana Rodriguez and Irma Roche both of Miami, FL; Ziola Flores of Las Vegas, NV; Lidya Silva, Sibila Silva and Marta Silva all of Cuba.

He was preceded by his parents: Simon & Caridad Alonzo. Son: Rolanda J. Silva. Sister: Enriqueta Silva. Two Brothers: Joaquin Silva & Pedro Silva.
