On Wednesday evening, May 15, 2013, God dispatched an angel to take Simeon Joshua Malcolm Gray home to be with the Lord.  God blessed him with 20 beautiful years on earth.  Simeon Joshua was born in Decatur, Alabama on July 5, 1992 to Samuel & Sherry Tapscott Gray Sr.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Gray, his grandfather James Tapscott, three uncles, Elder Samuel Green, Piliate Gray, and Reverend Steve Gray, two aunts Rachael and Martha Gray.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age and united with El Shaddai Church in Decatur, Alabama.  Simeon had a quiet, shy and loving spirit.

Simeon hobbies were sports, football and weight lifting. After graduating from West Morgan High School in Trinity, Alabama in May 2010, he attended Northeast Community College in Boonsville, Mississippi where he played as guard on the football team.  He majored in Physical Therapy and lacked only one course before graduating.  His next plan was to attend Tennessee State University. 

Simeon was a great son and he loved and mentored his oldest brother Samuel Jr.  Simeon had a genuine love for all and the gift of hospitality.

Simeon Joshua loved his family and friends, was a young man of great character.  He leaves to cherish his memory; loving parents, Samuel and Sherry Gray Sr.; one brother Samuel Gray Jr., great grandmother Lillie Mae Wiggins(Decatur), grandparents; Reverend Elijah Gray Jr. (Geneva), Eunice Smith Tapscott, three uncles; Stanley Tapscott (Huntsville), Bishop John Gray (Linda), Bishop Elijah Gray III (Victoria), nine aunts: Shirley Green, Felecia Tapscott, Blanche Gray, Mamie Gray (Columbia, Tennessee), Elizabeth Raybon (Edward), Mary Gray, Naomi Pruitt (David) all of Decatur, Alabama; Godparents; Samuel Booker (Jeanette) and Willie Dee Horton (Athens, Alabama) and other relatives and friends.
