Silver Lee Lord
Silver Lee Lord, of Greensboro, GA, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. He was 87. Lee was born in Greensboro, GA on January 22, 1930 to the late John Turnell Lord, Sr. and Mae Bell Mize Lord. He attended school in Woodville and Union Point. He married the former Kay Dolvin on June 10, 1977.
Lee was a self-starter who worked hard, and enjoyed a long and successful career as an entrepreneur, owning two restaurants, Nathanael Greene and the Townehouse, and two grocery stores, Lord’s Red & White in Greensboro and Lord’s Galaxy in Union Point. He was also owner of the Mini Storage in Union Point and the Laundromat.
In addition to his wife, Kay Lord of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his children, Michael Lord (Kay), Janice Lord Dolvin (Len), Paige Peugh, Til Peugh and Jimmy Peugh (Denise); grandchildren, Bobby Lord (Mary Jane), Amanda Lord Cummings (Brian) and Justin Lord (Alisha), Cindy Dolvin Rountree (Jeff), Nancy Dolvin Acevedo (Matt), Jenny Dolvin McKinsey (Steve),Kay Lynn Dolvin, Pete Peugh (Hailey), J B Peugh, Peyton Peugh and Parker Peugh; 25 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Godbee and Ardell Shaw; and a brother, David Lord (Frances). He was preceded in death by sisters, Essie Mae “Jean” Lord Turner and brother, John T. Lord, Jr. ; and a grandchild.
