Silvana Jaimes Martínez went home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, August 6 at the age of 83. Silvana was born on May 4, 1930 in Mexico, the daughter of Atenojenes Jaimes and Facunda Martínez. Silvana’s life was centered on home and family. She was the mother of 12 children, and spent her life caring for them.
She regularly commuted between her home in El Paso de Guayabal, Mexico and her children’s homes in Texas and Oklahoma. She traveled to the US several times throughout the year and made rounds to visit her children and grandchildren. He loved being around his children, grandchildren and friends. Silvana loved her independence and enjoyed being able to move on her own, which she was capable of until her last days on this earth.
She shared life with her friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed as she enjoys her independence in her heavenly home. Silvana married Crescenciano Pérez in 1946. She was the mother of 12 children, 33 grandchildren, and 44 great-grandchildren. Silvana, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, will be missed by all 87 of her descendants. Silvana decided to give herself to Jesus as her Lord and Savior through baptism in the local creek in El Paso de Guayabal along with her granddaughter in the summer of 2008. She was a member of the Church of Christ in El Paso de Guayabal, Mexico and Abilene.
Silvana was preceded in death by her husband Cresenciano Pérez, two sons Fidencio and José, her brothers Paulino Martínez and Ecliserio Jaimes, and great-granddaughter Crystal Pérez. Silvana is survived by her children and their spouses: Ernesto and Catalina Pérez, Alfonso and Juana Pérez, Teresa and Juan Ortiz, Seferina and Rubén Pea, Seferino and Mara Pérez, Mara and Fernando Garay, Esperanza and José Gonzlez, Abraham and Miriam Pérez, Arturo and Adela Pérez, Micaela and Gustavo Villanueva; Brothers and Sisters: Raunel Martínez, Petra Martínez and Agustina Jaimes, and 33 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
