Mrs. Siegrid Mieth Yeager, 84 of Newnan, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1932 in Berlin, Germany to the late Gerhard Mieth & Helene Schlesinger Mieth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Marvin Leon Yeager, brother, Juergen Mieth, and sister, Christa Brandenburg.

Siegrid grew up in Germany and was a young child during WWII. Her family had to flee their home from Nazi occupation. They were forced to live in the woods and sleep under Allied tanks to avoid the Nazis. At the age of 22, she left her family in Germany and arrived in American unable to speak English. Even after the harsh experiences of her youth she always had a keen sense of humor. She met and married Leon Yeager and made their life in Newnan. Siegrid excelled in the field of business, she owned her own shoe store and later worked her way up to a buyer and assistant manager for a large retail store.

Survivors include children, Marsha (Fred) Dailey, Martina (Kyle) Wilson, Gaylene (Bill) Pronevitch, Mike (Bev) Yeager, Scott (Pangie) Yeager; grandchildren, Jeremy Yeager, Kelli Yeager, Brooke (Leslie) Hudson, Casey (Alicia) Wilson, Matthew (Jennifer) Dailey, Reagan Yeager, Kirby (Kevin) Dunn, Weston Yeager; 9 great-grandchildren and her special pet, Lacey.
