Sidney S. “Sande” Grieb, 88, of Anderson, passed from this earth October 6, 2017. He was born on November 28, 1928 in New York, New York.
Sidney graduated from Anderson High School. He retired in 1989 as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service with 28.5 years of service. He belonged to the Lord’s Church and was a chaplain at the Madison County Jail.
Sande is survived by his wife of five years, Mary Tolle-Grieb; daughters, Cindy (Charlie) Soden, Shelly Drennon, Jenny Stangle; grandchildren, Clint (Katie) Soden, Chad (Michelle) Soden, Cory (Natalie) Stangle, Jesse (Taylor) Stangle, great-grandchildren, Joshua Soden, Rachel Soden, Katelyn Doan, Evan Stangle, Danny Stangle; half brother, George Scott, Jr.; step-children, Susie (Mike) Franklin, Steve Tolle (Sharon Rees); step-grandchildren, Steve Tolle, Brian Tolle, Alissa (Grant) Miller, Aaron Franklin, Kelly (Chris) Balich; step great-grandson, Jonah Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Edna Grieb; first wife of 63 years, Phyllis Grieb; granddaughter, Kelly Johnston.
