Remembering Sidney

Sidney Clemente Diaz was born December 18, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, to Lino and Iris Diaz. He was the third child of four children.

Brooklyn became where he met lifelong childhood friends and his wife Migdalia Marin of 27 years. He later had three children, Idalis (Dalis), Sydney (Buddy), and Mariarose (Peanut).

Sidney graduated from Midwood High School in 1990 and then began his career in the arts. A love he had since he was a child that he continued to have till his final days. He started his career in screen printing and later continued to become a well-known and popular graphic artist for the next 25 years. With his knowledge and years of experience, he was able to teach and mentor others in the craft he loved so much.

His love for art and passion for his work led him to work with lifelong friends like Alfonso Alvarez, who not only became a close family friend but a brother to Sidney and an uncle to his three daughters.

Sidney was most loved for his compassion and empathy for others, for his humor, for being the life of the party as well as for being a devoted husband and father.

“ I am an Artist who is humble, a man that stands tall and proud by the side of the woman who made me a father three times and husband. I am a good friend to those who share and care equally the same. I will never lower myself, so you can stand on my shoulders to raise your self-worth above mine. “
