Sibyl Kennedy Olsen passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at the age of 91. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Grady Olsen, and by her parents, Horace Louis Kennedy and Antonia Gross Kennedy. She is survived by her three children, Diane Olsen Sampson, James Grady Olsen II (Debby), and Debbie Olsen Prevost (John); her six grandchildren, Kristen Sampson Betit (Matt), Joseph Raymond Zierhut (Lindsey), Jaime Olsen South (Matt), Kelly Olsen McGehee (Kyle), Ashley Prevost Salvaggio (Daniel), and Kristi Prevost Camp (Aaron); her seven great grandchildren, Nicholas and Grace Betit, Katelin and Addison South, Liam and Cooper McGehee, and Ivy Zierhut. Sibyl was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and was a life-long resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Metairie High School class of 1942. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, affectionately known as “Mo”, she had a zest for life, enjoyed square and round dancing, and had a special interest in genealogy. Sibyl loved traveling with her husband Jimmy in their Airstream trailer as members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club.
