Cathy Shoemate, of Franklin, formerly of Salem, daughter of the late Pete Mask and Lorene Wilson Mask, was born July 18, 1953 in Leachville, Arkansas. She died March 8, 2015 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, at the age of 61 years 7 months and 18 days.
She was united in marriage to Dale Shoemate March 20, 1970 in Salem. She was a CNA at Fulton County Nursing Home in Salem and Eagle Crest Nursing Home in Ash Flat for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children: Melvin Kent Shoemate and Trina of Franklin, and Melba Joice and Dean of Salem; grandchildren: Dakota Kent Shoemate and Jessica, Kathryn Lorene Joice and Dominic; great- granchildren; Ava Mae Cunningham, Riley Kent Shoemate, and Chloe Lynn Shoemate; siblings: Laythan Mask and Barbara of Wills Point, Texas, Ray Mask and Carol of Camp, Vickie Haynes of Memphis, Ricky Mask of Camp, Diane Dunn and Randy of Mammoth Spring; sister-in-law: Ella Dean Shoemate of Salem; several nieces and nephews , and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother: Joe Junior Mask; daughter-in-law: Zinna Kim Neal; son-in-law: Dennis Marrs, and her father and mother.
