Shirley Watkins, 89, of Boise, Idaho passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her home of natural causes incident to age.
Shirley was born February 14, 1926 in Ogden, Weber, Utah to Ralph Franklyn Taylor and Ethel Irene Thompson Taylor.
When Shirley was about a year old her family moved to Portland, Oregon where she was raised and attended grade school and eventually attending and graduating from Oregon City Senior High School in the spring of 1943. Shirley went to work in the Shipyards as a clerk/typist and eventually went on to spend a year at Brigham Young University.
On November 3, 1945 she married Francis George Watkins and from this marriage they had two sons. They were later divorced.
Shirley learned to be a bookkeeper at Willamette Tug and Barge. She loved to work and to be with the friends that she made at work. She had many great years working in the main office for Albertson’s and then went to work for Touche Ross and Company where she was eventually able to travel for the company to help with bookkeeping in the other offices throughout the United States.
Shirley loved her family very much. Each one was very special to her. Friends were also very important to her throughout her life. She had good friends and she was a very good friend to them.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Rodney W. (Annette) Watkins of Hemet, California and Craig L. (Lynn) Watkins of Blackfoot, Idaho; and a brother, S. Daniel (Kristi) Taylor of Tualatin, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorris Taylor; and a brother, Royal Taylor.
