Shirley T. Sears, age 91, longtime resident of Milford and wife of the late Stuart G. Sears, Pearl Harbor survivor, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehab Center.  Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Hilda Teves. A graduate of Bassick H.S. and Southern CT. State University where she received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education, Shirley taught many years in Trumbull, Stratford, and Milford before founding and operating The Stratford Co-op Preschool. She was the co-director for over 25 years.

She is survived by her beloved son Rev. Sanford R. Sears and wife Erika of New Bern, NC, granddaughter Noelle Malmberg, grandson Harvey Sears, USN,  her loving and devoted nieces, Laurel (James) Steckel of VA, Lynnette (Gordon) Delcambre of VA., and Lenore (Ted) Maynard of Milford, along with seven great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jeanne T. Ittner.
